Books about Encounter Overland

A Phase I’m Going Through is an autobiography, written by Tony Jones, with Trish Burt.

This is not just a book about Encounter Overland, but an extremely well-written and readable account of Tony’s whole life, from his birth in war-torn London to his retirement in Pokhara, Nepal.

The book recounts, in some detail, Tony’s remarkable life of adventure travel across the globe. It stands up very well in comparison with adventure travel books by the likes of Paul Theroux, Dervla Murphy et al.
